E3 Ministry

E3 Ministry

Alsbury Baptist Church wants every person, in every walk of life, to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition to that, we want to come alongside them for that journey.

Those are the reasons E3 Ministries exists to:

  • Embrace and minister to people with IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Differences).
  • Empower people with IDD to live life as fully and independently as possible.
  • Equip people with IDD to be a part of the body of Christ to the fullest, and equip people to minister among those with IDD.

Forever Friends, Sunday @ 9:00 AM Class and 10:30 AM Worship

Forever Friends is a vibrant Life Group for adults impacted by intellectual and developmental differences (IDD). Led by a dynamic group of volunteers, our Forever Friends experience Bible study in creative ways that meet them at their level of understanding. Forever Friends is much more than just a Bible study. With retreats, picnics, shopping trips, Night to Shine prom, and fishing expeditions among the group’s regular outings, Forever Friends is on of the most active and engaging Life Groups at Alsbury.

kingdom kids, Sunday @ 9:00 AM Worship and 10:30 Class

Children and families impacted by intellectual and developmental differences (IDD) find a place of respite in our Kingdom Kids group. During the 9:00 hour, all elementary-aged children experience inclusive worship in LAB (Learning About the Bible). Each child is paired with a buddy (adult, teen, or other child depending on abilities) and is encouraged to participate in games, music, prayer, and Bible study. After a snack between services, children either return to the LAB for a second hour of inclusive learning or join a self-contained Kingdom Kids class led by experienced Special Educators. In this self-contained class, students encounter music, video Bible stories, various manipulatives, physical toys, and a soothing environment.

Our staff is happy to discuss your child’s specific abilities so that we can give him or her the best experience with minimal stress. We strive to provide everyone with a loving, accepting fellowship full of Bible study, retreats, fun activities, and friendships.

Alsbury has partnered with the Center for ASD (autistic spectrum disorders), which is an organization that works with children who have special needs and their parents. They have a wonderful ministry with many families in our area, including a number from our church. We are walking along side them, learning from them and joining with them in ministry to families in our area. Used this link to find out more of what they do: Center for ASD

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, over 500 churches from around the world come together to host Night to Shine for approximately 90,000 honored guests through the support of 175,000 volunteers!
