I do not use that word much. I sense sermons, conversations, or concerts are too often described as “inspired” or “anointed.” Maybe “uplifting,” “challenging,” or “blessed” better describe our regular experiences with the Lord.
Anointed, however, is the only word I know that adequately describes Sunday’s twentieth anniversary worship experience. God showed up in a most special way. I was blessed beyond expectation. I anticipated a divine encounter and God truly did show up!
It was encouraging to remember what God has done. The stories that were shared affirmed that ours is a wonderful church. It was inspiring to consider what God will do.
There is no limit, really.
As we walk into the next 20 years of ministry, remember that it is worthy of our financial investment. Everything God has done required the financial support of his people. Everything he will do requires the same.
We have not met budget needs in several weeks. We are not in a financial bind because church leadership has not spent the approved budget. We won’t, either, until budget support increases.
If our budget giving increases we will not only maintain our existing ministries and operations, we will enable increased involvement in reaching our community with the Gospel, additional mission efforts, and we will continue the vision God has given us. Without the increase we will have to consider some undesirable options like eliminate ministries, modify operations, and even cut staff.
Please support the budget needs of your church with regular contributions.
You can give in the traditional fashion in worship services or you can make use of electronic giving. Either way, give with vision and cheerfulness.
