The Right Gear Makes a Difference!
(Reflections from a Fall)
“Be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.” 2 Peter 3:17 NIV
You may have heard that I fell off of my bike recently. Actually, I fell off three times. Thankfully, nothing was seriously hurt other than my pride.
I wear bike shoes when I ride. The shoes have cleats that clip into the pedals, allowing for more efficient pedaling. The cleats should pop out of the pedals easily with a simple twist of the ankle. My cleats were all but impossible to disengage, leading the the embarrassing falls when forced to stop.
I purchased new pedals this week and now things work as they should. I was surprised at just how easily my cleats now disengage from the pedals! Having the right equipment really does make a difference!
I often wonder how people live their lives without the guidance found in the Bible. Scripture provides insight for living with wisdom. With God’s Word as our guide, we are able to stand firm in the midst of challenges and experience life to the full.
If you do not already spend time every day in the Bible, I hope you will begin today. If you are not already meeting with like-minded Christians in study of the Bible, I hope you will begin this Sunday. Stop in at our information table this Sunday for help with finding a Bible study to attend.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
