Thank you for the gracious provision of a two-month sabbatical which I began this week. I will use the time to (1) improve my personal leadership skills, (2) prepare our church for transitions in leadership, and (3) further develop our “special needs” ministry.
Morgan Bush will lead my Wednesday evening Bible study. Also, eight individuals will bring the Sunday morning messages. Each, as you will see below, is uniquely gifted.
Morgan Bush is an exceptionally insightful individual with a keen understanding of Scripture. He previously served as a pastor in an Odessa, Texas church.
Mark Janzen, a current professor at Southwestern Seminary, is an authority on Egyptian history. This will be his first time to speak at Alsbury on a Sunday morning.
John Mark Tittsworth is a current PhD student at Southwestern Seminary and serves as our Deacon ministry chairman. He leads in several areas of our ministry.
Jody Kennedy is in full time ministry with “Jody Kennedy International,” an evangelistic ministry working primarily in Nicaragua.
Brock DeWald will step away from his usual place in worship leadership to bring the morning message. This will be our twenty-second anniversary as a church.
Tim Newton, our Student Pastor, will challenge our church family in the area of missions on this “One Family: One Service” Sunday. Only one service at 10:30.
Mark Parks, a PhD graduate of Southwestern Seminary and director of a hospice ministry in our area, will speak in both services.
Benny Gresham has served churches in America and Asia. He has been part of the Alsbury family since retiring from the United States military.
