Thank you so very much for each kind and affirming word of congratulations following my graduation from Logsdon Seminary. I am deeply appreciative of each expression of encouragement whether delivered through face-to-face conversation or through written notes, texts, and e-mails.
The Doctor of Ministry program at Logsdon has been both challenging and rewarding. The last few years were used by the Lord to sharpen my focus and rekindle my zeal for ministry. I appreciate the opportunity you afforded me to study with some of the most gifted faculty one could find. Logsdon is a bright and shining light in Texas Baptist life and a true blessing to me personally.
Some have asked why I tackled an advanced degree at this stage of my life. I suppose they believe I should be slowing down rather than digging in! Disciplined study is not reserved solely for younger ministers. I believe our best days of ministry are those we have yet to live. This applies to us all, no matter how young or old.
The Lord is always able to do “what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has conceived of.”
We should always tackle new challenges, refusing to back down from difficult or demanding tasks.
