Every summer families scatter near and wide for vacations, weekend getaways, and family reunions. Summer is a time for recreation and making memories.
Summer typically sees a decline in giving, but not in 2016. Financial support of the Alsbury ministry has remained strong. Thank you for your faithfulness.
We have encountered significant costs of property maintenance this summer. Our shared gifts have allowed us to make these repairs without compromising ministry and missions.
I strongly encourage you to take time to engage in memorable activities as a family. Many of my fondest memories are centered around time spent together as a family.
Summer plans don’t have to involve expensive trips or extensive travel. Great times can be shared in “staycations.” The key is to spend time together and create lasting memories.
Afternoons in the pool
Weekend in a tent at an area campground
Hikes along a nature trail
Spend time together, celebrate the life you share, and create your own personal memories.
If you are in town I hope you’ll make church a priority. If, however, you slip away for a few days, do so knowing that time shared together is a valuable investment in family. Nothing you do has any greater return on investment.
Fall will be here before we know it. The routine of work and school will resume. Until then, make sure you set aside time together as a family. Make memories. Laugh and play together. You will be glad you did.
