Jesus didn’t suggest that we love others; he commanded it. And just in case there was some measure of uncertainty about how we might go about loving others, he added, “As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
I spoke with one of our younger couples following Sunday’s service. After thanking me for a clear challenge they said, “You know how you’re always telling us to ‘Make Jesus famous?’ Maybe loving others is the way we will do that.”
I’ve heard many kind words and affirming statements after a thousand similar services, but nobody has ever summarized things any better.
We truly do make Jesus famous when we love other people. When we love unconditionally. When we love sincerely. When we love as Jesus loved us.
