The coming of the Christ child fulfilled centuries of prophecy and promise. Generations of people had waited. Generations since his arrival in that Bethlehem stable people have experienced him impact upon their world and upon themselves.
Jesus came so that we might have life and life to the full (John 10:10).
His coming is the reason for our hope because the God who honored his promises then will honor his promises now. His coming provides peace with God because he looks past who we once were and even as we now are to see us as we will one day be. His coming is the foundation to our joy as our lives are now full of meaning and purpose. And his coming reveals God’s love for us and inspires the love we have for others.
Christmas Day has come and gone. Decorations are removed. Boxes are returned to the attic.
We’ve seen and heard the phrase, “Keep Christ in Christmas.” By living in the hope, peace, joy, and love of Christ we will keep him at the center of not only Christmas but in each day and every season of the coming year.
