What if Jesus actually meant what he said?
What if he actually expects us to live by his directives? What if he really meant for our choices to be guided by his words? What if he actually demands our obedience and not simply our recognition Honestly, we do believe some of what he said. We believe his declaration, “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved” (John 10:9). We believe his promise, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matt 11:28). We believe “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (John 3:17). Yet we dismiss so much of what he said. We disregard the more challenging words, concluding, “Surely he didn’t actually mean what he said!”
But what if he did? What if he really meant exactly what he said?
Next Sunday, May 25, we will begin a series of messages that ask how we should respond to the things Jesus said.
We will answer the question, “What if Jesus really meant what he said?”
This teaching series will profoundly impact our lives; the lives we live as individuals and the life that we live collectively
