Every fifth Sunday of a month we gather for a single worship service. We identify this experience as “One Family: One Service.” This Sunday, July 31, is one of those Sundays.
No small groups will meet this Sunday morning. We will gather for a single, shared worship service at 10:30.
Our practice is to focus on one specific area of our overall ministry. This Sunday we will celebrate our ministry among the youngest in our community.
Our children are not simply tomorrow’s leaders. They contribute to our church life now. They do not possess a child’s portion of the Holy Spirit and are gifted fully by the Spirit. Yes, they are learning to walk in the Spirit and to minister in their giftedness. However, this should be said of believers of any and every age. I, too, am learning such things.
We will hear reminders of the impact we have on the youngest in our church family. Our legacy is not simply what we leave behind when we die, but the influence we have each day as we live.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday. Prepare to experience the excitement and enthusiasm of a child encountering Jesus. You won’t be disappointed.
