“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?” Romans 10:13-15 NIV
In March twenty-seven people from our Alsbury family will travel to Mexico, Germany, Serbia, and Northern Ireland. These mission trip participants are preparing themselves for both the challenges and opportunities they will encounter while serving.
One group returns to Reynosa, Mexico and the Casa Hogar children’s home. Another to CityChurch in Andernach, Germany. Some will work with Open Door Church in Novi Sad, Serbia, and others with Adventure Leadership Training in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
We are all called to fulfill the Great Commission. We each play one of two specific roles; we either go or we send others. To not fill one of these two roles is to ignore the command of Christ to take the gospel message to all people everywhere.
I ask you to participate with our group of twenty-seven in three ways.
- First, set aside daily time to pray for our mission trip participants. Pray for our partner churches or organizations in each of the four countries visited.
- Second, ask others in your small group Bible study to join you in prayer. Lead your group in praying weekly for our mission trip participants.
- Third, make a financial investment of any amount in our “Mission Project” fund. Any gift you provide will make a difference, I assure you.
Phyllis and I will travel to Andernach to help CityChurch develop their ministry to people with special needs. We covet your prayers as we prepare for this important assignment.
