Alsbury Kids’ Ministry (AKM)

purpose

Alsbury Kids’ Ministry (AKM) exists to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus. As we do this, we help our children:

  • Know and worship God
  • Imitate Jesus in their relationships
  • Develop their spiritual gifts and abilities
  • Serve the church and our community

programs

LAB, Sunday @ 9:00 and 10:30 AM

Learning About the Bible (LAB) – Kids are engaged in games, skits, creative learning, stories, music, and videos as they learn more about the Bible and how to live in relationship with God and others. LAB starts as a large group that breaks into smaller grade level groups for discussion (1st – 5th grade). Each lesson is based on one of three basic truths: I need to make the wise choice; I can trust God no matter what; and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

LAB Jr., Sunday @ 9:00 and 10:30 am

A First Look at God’s World – A version of LAB for our preschool and kindergarten students. We aim to create a sense of awe as we meet your preschoolers where they are cognitively, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. Preschoolers build their spiritual foundation through age appropriate activities so that by the time they finish Kindergarten they know these three basic truths: God made me; God loves me; and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

COW, Wednesday @ 6:30 PM

Church on Wednesday (COW) – COW is designed to energize children in the middle of their week. We introduce the materials we’ll discuss on Sunday in the LAB as we explore Bible truths in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Some kids call COW their favorite night of the week.
