Represent When Reaching Out
When we extend our hand to help others, we are being the physical and tangible representation of Jesus. We are faced with opportunities almost daily. It is our choice to step into the situations and bring relief while making His name famous. Jesus said when we do, we have a special place in the Father’s heart. He goes on to say, when you do for them you do for Me.
“For when you saw me hungry, you fed me. When you found me thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I had no place to stay, you invited me in, and when I was poorly clothed, you covered me. When I was sick, you tenderly cared for me, and when I was in prison you visited me.”Matthew 25:35-36
Say Yes to Outreach
Alsbury has opportunities to be involved in as God cultivates a heart for others within you.
Homebound Ministry serves those members and individuals who are unable to attend church services due to physical limitations. Without regular social contact, they run the risk of feeling isolated helpless, and lonely.
What does Homebound Ministry Look Like?
It can be as simple as a card or handwritten note or, even better, a personal phone call or stopping by for a visit. Being able to connect with others becomes critical for these individuals. It is a privilege to come alongside and encourage those that are homebound. Currently, we have 17 people needing this connection. If you would like to Say Yes to Homebound Ministry, contact Keely Langdon (email).
The Alsbury Food Pantry
It is hard to believe there are families in our community going to bed hungry. This is a reality. The elementary school next to our building has over 60% of their students enrolled in the reduced or free lunch program. It is our reality.
The Alsbury Food Pantry serves several families in our community each month with dignity and love. It helps provide food security and peace of mind. If you would like to Say Yes to the Food Pantry, contact Cindy Sambrano (email).
In September, our Homeless Ministry will relaunch with new partnerships. More information to come.
Our hope at Alsbury is for each person to find their place of meaningful service and ministry. To see more opportunities, click on the following link: volunteer.
