As a church, we should be looking for ways to get outside the walls of the church building and meeting people where they are in our community. This year, what if we leveraged the Halloween holiday to follow Jesus’s example of meeting people where they are? Imagine groups of Alsbury’s people scattered all throughout the different neighborhoods of Burleson meeting and connecting with neighbors… It would be pretty incredible!
How Will This Happen
You and your Life Group would meet together on October 31 at someone’s house with the purpose and intention of talking with and meeting your neighbors. We are calling it “Halloween House Parties.“ For example, one group is going to grill hot dogs and hand them out to the adults as the kids get candy. Another group is setting up a corn hole game for kids to play while talking with their parents. There might even have a bounce house still available for you to use. The possibilities are endless on how to engage with the kids and adults in your neighborhood.
We will provide for you:
- A yard sign that you can display in the days prior to Halloween
- Business cards to pass out with information about Alsbury and Kids Ministry.
We are here to help you make this night fun for your group and effective in engaging our community. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to help you.
