Next Steps

WHAT IS YOUR NEXT BEST STEP?

CONNECT

BECOME A MEMBER

Membership is far more than joining an organization, but connects individuals to a committed community with the common goal of fully following Christ. At the conclusion of Next Steps, you will have the opportunity to unite with the Alsbury family.

BECOME

JOIN A LIFE GROUP

At Alsbury, personal relationships are developed best in small groups, known as Life Groups. You will experience authentic family as people study the Bible together and apply the principles learned for everyday life. Life Groups allow intentional investment in each other’s lives and opportunities to compassionately reach out to others.

ENGAGE

START SERVING

Serving creates a space for you to encounter God and disciple others as you find community within the church. We serve by sharing the gospel, our time, our creativity, and our resources.  No matter your passion, there is a place for you, and we can’t wait to help you get connected!

WHAT IS BAPTISM?

Baptism is a ceremony where an individual is fully immersed in water to express and symbolize  their new life in Christ.   In Baptism we proclaim what the Bible declares, that “if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come.” [1] It creates a beautiful image of what Christ did for us through His death, burial, and resurrection. [2]

We declare to all who witness our baptism,

“My identity is found in Jesus and I am no longer bound by sin but have been set free to new life in him!”

However, baptism is not only a symbol of our identity in Christ. It is our first opportunity to be a witness to others about our desire to live a life of obedience to Him. It connects us to all others and proclaims we, too, are part of the Church, or the Body of Christ. [3]

IS BAPTISM IMPORTANT?

  • Jesus began His ministry on earth by being baptized. [4]
  • Before ascending to heaven Jesus commanded his disciples to baptize new believers. [5]
  • Following Pentecost over 3000 people were baptized and the Church was formed. [6]

HAVE YOU TAKEN THIS STEP?

At  Alsbury, the only requirement for baptism is that you have made a decision to surrender your life to Jesus.

If you’ve given your life to Jesus, we want to celebrate new life with you! Sign up for our next  Baptism Sunday to be baptized publicly!
